A surfboard shaped swimming pool.  Now that is really cool!!!

Recently I was in Orlando and had a chance to drop by the Surfside Inn and Suites resort – part of Universal Studios Florida.  This is one of Universal’s newest resorts and, like Cabana Bay, offers a more affordable way to stay on property while visiting the parks.

Someone came up with the great idea of shaping the swimming pool like a surfboard.  The builders got the curves right, so the pool looks fantastic.  If you are one of those people who don’t like jumping in the water, one end of the pool is slanted, allowing you to simply walk in and out of the water.  The pool also boasts underwater bench seating – a great way to enjoy the water with minimum effort.

Do you know what else is wonderful about this swimming pool?  It’s the underwater music.  That’s right.  This pool is outfitted with Clark Synthesis’ very own DiluvioTM Underwater Swimming Pool speakers.  What does that mean?  When you go underwater, the music that’s playing above the water continues under the water.  How cool is that!  What a great way to relax after a day at the parks!

Around the pool you will find plenty of lounge seating and umbrellas.  Just right for the Florida sun.  There are also family games available like Ping-Pong and Connect Four.
